TO WONG FOO TURNS 30
A Night of Queer Cinema, Ballroom, and Celebration
Presented by Hoodbutch Studios in collaboration with Music Box Theatre
Sunday, September 21, 2025 – Chicago, IL
Join us for a one-night-only cultural event honoring the 30th anniversary of To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar. This joyful, high-impact evening blends queer cinema, ballroom, and community celebration — with a special screening, a Vogue Mini Ball, curated performances, a VIP cocktail lounge, and a late-night after-party.
Whether you’re rewatching for the hundredth time or discovering the magic for the first, this is more than a screening. It’s a love letter, a time capsule finally opened, a platform for queer expression, a runway for queer vision. We’re honoring the history, the legacy, and taking a sip of what the next generation is serving.

“Making a successful luxury brand in nine years is genius. It’s a feat that I admire and hope to continue building upon with a rich legacy. He revolutionised streetwear and luxury that crosses generations and decades. He showed the world that the underrepresented, the underdogs and Black people, in particular, have brilliant minds and can push and compete equally in the establishment. He inspired hope and brought about change.” - Ibrahim Kamara, Art&Image Director Off-White™
